UAV Test Engineer reports to UAS Test Engineering Manager. Responsibilities include 1) writing test plans and detailed test procedures for hardware and/or software applications, 2) plan strategy for stress and regression testing, 3) participate in the review requirements and design documents, 4) attend requirements and design review meetings, 5) provide assistance to testers who are performing testing, 6) document and follow-up with developers to resolve issues found in testing, 7) work with end users to determine testing requirements, 8) perform test tracking and status reporting, 9) assist in defining requirements for new test management tools, mentor and coach the testers to resolve technical issues and maintain common practices across the test team. Responsible for hardware and/or software testing at the HWCI, CSCI, subsystem, system, and flight test level.

Effective written and oral communication skills. Effective ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks. Familiarity with CMM Level 3 practices. Masters degree in a technical or engineering discipline preferred. Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.


Required Experience
Bachelors degree from an accredited school in a technical or engineering discipline. Minimum 8 years hardware, software, or combined hardware/software testing experience including creating test cases, procedures and plans from hardware, software, and system requirements documents. 5 years experience in hardware, software requirements, and/or system requirements and performance validation for medium to large projects. Experience with flight testing, aircraft systems, real-time systems, computerized control stations, military operations and integration, and architecture modeling tools a plus.
