Jobing Description


The primary role of the FEHBP Account Vice-President is overall account management and open season execution responsibilities for UnitedHealthcare's largest fully insured account to include:

Manages all account management functions for $800 million fully insured FEHBP account


Oversees team of 6 direct reports and indirect oversight of 2 SAEs (UHC of RV and HPN) on FEHBP specific functions


Primary UHC contact for OPM Division Chief/Contracting Officers


Project manages annual renewal process with underwriting, regional health plan leaders, and National FEHBP Team


Coordinates all FEHBP marketing/promotional activities with corporate marketing, including $1 million budget development/oversight


Oversees all open season functions in four markets, including staffing and strategic marketing and communication planning for over 400 health fairs


Establishes goals and metrics for appropriate agency outreach in four markets


Provides FEHBP expertise for matrix partners (legal, regulatory, medical management, customer service, etc)


Assures compliance with all FEHBP requirements; maintains highest customer service score (10) with OPM


Key participant on MAHP healthcare affordability team and PS Employee Engagement Council





Skills / Requirements


- 5 years experience in the managed care industry with strong relationship building and problem solving skills.

- Strong HMO and PPO product knowledge - prefer experience with FEHBP (Federal Employees Health Benefits Program).
- Internal operations capabilities
- Ability to build and maintain strong client and internal relationships
- Strong customer focus - manages difficult situations to a positive result
- Strong communication/presentation skills
- Four year college degree and work experience in the managed health care industry
- Strong communication and computer skills
- State Life and Health Insurance License
