The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited, to the following::

- Lead a team of accountants
- Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practices;
- Develop and maintain internal control structure and procedures for financial reporting;
- Resolve high level financial reporting issues;
- Manage the audit process and work with outside auditors regarding accounting and reporting issues;
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of internal and external reporting ensuring the quality, reliability and timeliness of the reports;
- Provide operational and technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with GAAP, Company policies, rules, regulation and laws;
- Summarize findings on the monthly, quarterly or annual reports to senior management, auditors and regulators;
- Support various special projects as required.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports.
- Perform account reconciliations and analyses, prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
- Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position.
- Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.
- Sought out as expert.
- Will review the work of others
- Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree with concentration in Accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of Accounting experience.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them.
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
- Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements.
- Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems.
- Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses.

Preferred experience:

- CPA, CIA or MBA
- Healthcare or insurance industry experience
- Accounting experience handling regulated entities

Skills / Requirements
