- 4-5 years The Division of Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center is undergoing significant expansion of breadth of clinical and consultation services provided. The Division is growing its referral base and image guided, minimally invasive therapies in areas of Women’s Health, Interventional Oncology, Peripheral and Renovascular Disease, Transplant interventions, end Stage Renal Disease, Venous Thromboembolic Disease and DVT, Portal Hypertension and Liver disease. With this growth, the Division has immediate openings for skilled and energetic personnel. We are seeking an experienced, skilled Practice Manager to build and guide our expanding practice. Duties will include developing, directing and coordinating all activities pertaining to a clinical practice through general or direct supervision of staff, with special attention to front end practices and patient flow. Our Practice Manager will be responsible for patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient flow, and other reimbursement related activities. Under the direction of the Chief of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, the practice manager will help develop new business ventures. Additionally, the practice manager will keep management and staff adequately informed of issues; serve as a liaison with managers of other departments and UPI Administrative staff; monitor finances quarterly; implement cost saving measures contributing to UPI financial targets; and other duties as assigned. Qualified applicants will possess: a Bachelor`s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university in Business Management or related field; RN with BSN; candidate working towards a MBA or MSN preferred; minimum 5 years experience in health care, with preference given for experience in a surgical practice; minimum 3 years management experience and at least 2 years administrative experience in managed care in either a provider or payer setting; current knowledge of payer requirements; familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT coding; knowledge of IDX or similar computerized billing system; strong customer service and organizational skills; and strong PC proficiency.
