Schedule: Shift: Day Shift Hours: - High school diploma or equivalent is required - Customer service skills are required - Experience is required Every Maryland Family Care (MFC) employee is expected to support the goals and mission of MFC; in particular, the commitment to providing all patients easy access to high quality care, service and value. The job responsibilities listed below are not intended to be a complete list for the position. All MFC employees are asked to: adapt to the changing needs of the organization, its patients and the market; actively contribute to a positive, congenial working environment; and actively contribute to enhancing patient experience. The Medical Office Specialist answers multiple telephone lines, directs and assists callers appropriately and completes phone messages in the manner prescribed by office policy and procedure; manages patient flow within office for one to four physicians/practitioners at one time; greets, screens interviews and assists patients and visitors to the practice according to office guidelines; accurately takes and records patients - vital signs; accurately performs and records EKGs; accurately takes and records patients - fingerstick glucose levels and routine urinalysis; and performs phlebotomy tasks and gives injections using accepted clinical techniques. The Medical Office Specialist establishes cooperative working relationships with physicians, senior management, practice management and peers to facilitate timely and high quality completion of work. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must possess a minimum of one (1) year experience in a medical office setting. Must possess demonstrated ability to accurately take patient vital signs.
