Department: GYN/Oncology-Osler Drive
Schedule: Regular Full-time Shift: Day Shift Hours: - High school diploma or equivalent is required - Customer service skills are required - Experience is required The Patient Service Assoicate-Team Leader manages front desk operations under the direction of the Administrative Coordinator and the Director of Operations, including but not limited to: scheduling patients; answering phones; scanning medical records; triage of patient phone calls for severity / importance; assisting billing with collection of payments; collection of insurance information and verification of benefits; and reviews with Front Desk all patient concerns from comment cards, surveys, and observations from supervisors. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED; college credits preferred. Must possess working knowledge of physician practice operations and understanding of basic scheduling and charge entry procedures. Must have between three to five (3-5) years of front desk medical office experience. Surgical practice experience preferred. Gynecologic Oncology practice experience a plus. Knowledge of how to use the scheduling, registration and charge entry modules in the MYSIS system preferred. Must possess typing and scheduling skills. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology at a level normally acquired through completion of approved training programs. Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with clients, visitors, employers, and hospital personnel in exchanging and relaying information and in providing client care. Ability to work in a demanding and challenging environment. Supports the team effort through a willingness to work beyond normal working hours. Able to work independently with frequent interruptions. Follows written and oral instructions. Knowledge of exam room duties and use of office equipment. Must have excellent telephone demeanor. Must possess and promote excellent health, hygiene and grooming habits. Ability to prioritize work load for the most efficient performance. Must collect co-pays, document amounts and types of payments. All money collected is the responsibility of the individual who collected it from the patient(s).
