Utilize software development experience to perform all aspects of Software Quality Engineering for assigned programs, including:

* Monitor the software development process on projects through the entire life-cycle as a value-added activity. Work with and mentor the software development practitioners to ensure compliance to AAI--s software development process.

* Review engineering work products, such as, Statement of Work, Requirements Documents, Software Development Plan, Design Documents, Integration & Test plans, Test procedures and Test Reports for adherence to contractual and company requirements.

* Witness/monitor Software/Systems testing to ensure the product meets AAI's standards of quality and reliability.

* Provide QA oversight for assigned software suppliers.

* Manage Software QA program budgets.


Perform process audits of Program Management and Engineering (SW, HW, Systems) work products to ensure a quality product and adherence to AAI's procedures, processes, and contractual requirements. Communicate audit results to auditees and management. Assist auditees with understanding process requirements to bring the programs into compliance. Assist in gathering Quality metrics, and generate reports for programs and management.

Participate in process improvement activities for program management and engineering, including participating as an appraisal team member in SEI CMMI appraisals. Provide feedback for continuous process improvement. Develop and document quality assurance department processes. Assist in gathering Quality metrics, and generate reports for programs and management.

Knowledge of and practical experience in:

* Software engineering in all phases of project life cycle.

* Software / Systems engineering process models.

* Requirements analysis, RTMs and requirements management.


Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel is a very important skill for this position. Excellent multi-tasking, time management, and organizational skills. Understanding of Software Configuration Management concepts. Knowledge and experience with C/C++ preferred. Basic personal computer skills (e.g. word processing, spreadsheet, presentation). Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.


Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field. 8+ years total related experience. 5+ years in software development.
