Description:

This position is responsible for all APL Maritime Union payroll processing, compiling pay timesheets, data entry of pay information, processing of sending cash to vessels, and calculation of union contributions.

Accountabilities:

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

* Payroll processing of crew in 16 US flag vessels
* Compiling and data entry of weekly, biweekly and monthly pay cycles
* Generating reports of pay runs submitted
* Communication with crewmembers
* Respond to inquiries
* Paycheck distribution via mail
* Organization of pay information
* Employee folders / filing
* Utilize appropriate codes when entering data
* Update crewmember information
* Unemployment claim forms
* Answering claims and/or forwarding to appropriate party
* Master s cash processing in the A/P system
* Enter purchase orders
* Create union contributions payments for 7 unions

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in related business; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 2-4 years experience working in Payroll
* Demonstrated experience using MS Office, particularly Excel
* Proficient in English

* Experience using a computer, mail machine, copier and paper cutter
