Reporting to the Textron Systems Principle Import/Export Compliance Analyst, the Sr. Import/Export Compliance Analyst will proactively oversee Import Compliance matters for AAI Corporation located in Hunt valley, MD. S/he will interact with employees at all levels and will work both independently and with other members of the Legal, Contracts and Compliance Department staff on a variety of interesting international trade compliance matters. This role requires successful management of a broad range of responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. In performing this role, the Sr. Import/Export Compliance Analyst will:

* Administer U.S. Customs, BATFE, ITAR, EAR regulations as they relate to business transactions to ensure Customs compliance

* Determine product classifications under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Schedule B, duty rates and applicability for duty-free entry, valuation issues, country of origin, NAFTA and other Free Trade Agreement issues of imported and exported commodities

* Oversee activities with U.S. Customs Brokers and freight forwarders, including review of Import/Export documents and expediting clearance of shipments that have been delayed by U.S. Customs

* Provide guidance to and coordinate Imports with all functional areas including Supply Chain, Program Management, Transportation & Logistics, Security, etc.

* Prepare and file ATF forms ( 2, 5, 6, 6A, 9, etc.)

* Complete International Import Certificates and delivery verifications

* Work in collaboration with in-house attorneys and outside counsel to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

* Maintain up-to-date set of policies, procedures, and implementing forms

* Provide support in connection with internal/external audits and investigations

* Track application status, maintain database of granted import approvals, satisfy record-keeping requirements, and prepare required reports

* Assist in planning and conducting employee training

Skills / Requirements


Must have excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills and the ability to learn quickly, work independently with minimal supervision, manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and lead complex projects in a team environment. Excellent administrative and organization skills required. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products and D-TRADE on-line licensing system required, as well as the ability and willingness to travel occasionally. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien, with the ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.


Required Experience
Bachelors Degree preferred (emphasis on international business or law a plus). Minimum of 5-8 years of Import Compliance experience, with progressively more complex responsibilities, as well as ability to determine HTS codes and working knowledge of BATFE, ITAR, and EAR required. Prefer experience in Import and Customs Regulations, government contracting and international trade compliance areas, such as FCPA, Antiboycott, and OFAC. Customs Broker License a plus, but not required.
